Cogent ISP Network Outages Affecting Some Users

Cogent in Los Angeles is experiencing degraded network routing due to two separate fiber cuts in the area. We have depreferenced our direct peering connection with them earlier this afternoon, however, we are still seeing residual effects from this because other bandwidth providers are still handing off traffic to them. These outages are also most certainly impacting user connectivity if they are traversing providers that have not depreferenced Cogent yet. This is not just limited to the greater southern California area, transoceanic traffic to certain Asia-Pacific regions are also affected.
