Watching
Cogent in Los Angeles is experiencing degraded network routing due to two separate fiber cuts in the area. We have depreferenced our direct peering connection with them earlier this afternoon, however, we are still seeing residual effects from this because other bandwidth providers are still handing off traffic to them. These outages are also most certainly impacting user connectivity if they are traversing providers that have not depreferenced Cogent yet. This is not just limited to the greater southern California area, transoceanic traffic to certain Asia-Pacific regions are also affected. For updates you can refer to: https://ecogent.cogentco.com/network-status
Investigating
Unplanned maintenance will be occuring on multiple VPS and Dedicated servers specifically using Control Web Panel (CWP). No other servers are affected by this maintenance. During and after this period CWP ports will be closed by default and will require users to have their IP whitelisted.
If you are using CWP as your webserver control panel, please contact Support via chat/phone/email to have your IP(s) whitelisted and CWP access restored. If you are not using CWP as your webserver control panel, no further action is necessary.
Fixed
The issue on ecngx285 has been resolved, and services have returned to normal operation. If you continue to experience any issues, please reach out to our support team. Thank you for your patience!
